Field Trips

The book club tries to go on a major field trip each year. Here are some of the major field trips that we have been on since first starting up in the Summer of 1997.




 
 
 
Harpers Ferry - November 1998
This first picture is from a Post Card that I purchased on site, but the rest are my own personal photos.  I have realized after this trip thatI really should carry extra rolls of film.  I did not have any shots left to take pictures of us devouring the bookstore!!!!!! Monticello - October 1999

These are the pictures taken during our 1999 field trip. This was a fun weekend spent in Charlottesville, Virginia. Not only did we see Monticello, but we also had a wonderful meal at the Boar's Head Inn.Just click on the picture to go to the other photos taken during the trip.

 



 
 
 
Mount Vernon February 22, 2000
This was a mini trip that four of us went on for my Birthday which happens to be the same as George Washington's. If you share a Birthday with him, you get in free on that day!


 
 

 
 
Montross Virginia (Robert E. Lee's Birth Place) - August 2000

These are the pictures taken during the Summer 2000 field trip. I was unable to attend because I was in the hospital having a baby!!!! But I hear that everyone had a good time (without ME!!!!) B-) The trip to Montross included the dinner at the Montross Inn and to Stratford Hall, which is the birthplace of General Robert E. Lee. George Washington's birthplace is nearby. Gettysburg, PA - July 2001

Here is the pictures taken during the Summer 2001 field trip at Gettysburg, PA. I was unable to attend the summer trip last year due to the delivery of my baby, and it must be contagious because another member missed this summer trip due to delivery of her baby! Exton, PA - March 2003
